                Details Family Living Costs for State

The Self-Sufficiency Standard for Oklahoma is a measure of income adequacy that gives detailed information on what it costs to live in different parts of Oklahoma, for families with different compositions. The Standard measures what it costs to meet one's most basic needs, without public or private subsidies. Click here to access the full report
                         

                Weatherization Assistance Program

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 is providing funds to Oklahoma for the Weatherization Assistance Program. This program can help reduce energy costs by improving the energy efficiency of homes of eligible persons. Weatherization services are provided by your local Community Action Agency.  Click here learn more about Weatherization and to find the agency name and phone number for the county in which you live.

Report Summarizes Needs Assessment
                      Survey of Head Start Programs

The Head Start State Collaboration Office conducted a needs assessment of Head Start programs to gather information on cooperation, coordination, and collaboration in key areas. This report summarizes the findings from the needs assessment survey of Head Start programs in Oklahoma. The eight priority areas are: 1) Health Services; 2) Services for Children Experiencing Homelessness; 3) Welfare/Child Welfare; 4) Child Care; 5) Family Literacy; 6) Services for Children with Disabilities; 7) Community Services; and 8) Professional Development. In addition, the survey included sections that covered the areas of Head Start Pre-K Partnership Development and Head Start Transition Alignment with K-12. Click here to see the report

This guide is designed to be a tool kit for family members/caregivers to help provide good oral care for the children they care for.
It is also designed to be a quick reference guide for dental providers on how to best provide oral care for children with special health care needs. The guide is also available in a pdf format for ease in printing.

               Oklahoma Core Competencies for
                    Early Childhood Practitioners


These Oklahoma Core Competencies for Early Childhood Practitioners has been a work in progress over the last three years. These core competencies, posted for review, are basic skills we expect to see demonstrated by early childhood professionals from the entry level classroom assistant to the teacher with an advanced degree. Representatives from Head Start, child care, higher education, and public schools worked on these competencies to ensure that they are aligned with standards and expectations of all early childhood programs.
